Happy Happy Joy Joy
Well I told you guys that the next post will be what someone thinks about when training hours upon hours, but that will have to wait until later in the week when the training really ramps up. But for now we are going to talk about what makes you happy. Things in life that make one smile are the key to living a happy and healthy life. You can bs and say you are happy all the time but, truth is, nobody is happy all the time. This morning I heard a song that made me happy. It got me feeling great and wanting to get through the day with a smile. Here is the song that made my day. It is a Hawaiian dude who makes some pretty sick music. A little island reggae always makes me smile, gets me pumped up, gets my wanting to get wet (that means surf).
There is so much more that can make someone happy; a phone call from someone you haven’t talked to in a while, a song on the radio, a workout, a surf, or even a smile from a stranger. Being happy is the key to life. Each morning you have a choice on making it a happy day, stressful day, or whatever kind of day you want it to be. You have the choice to make it a great day. People always say they woke up on the wrong side of the bed, bullshit, you have a choice to make it a great day, so get out here and do it!
As for me, it started with remembering what I was watching last night before bed, 180 degrees South. I know I have mentioned it before but it is about a guy that jumps on a boat to Patagonia, Chile, and his sole purpose is to surf and climb, a great adventure! And then something else made me lay in bed this morning and smile, the fact that I get to train today. People take that they can work out for granted. I have the ability that God has given me to be able to train and workout today. And lastly, I have small group tonight, which I can’t wait for. Now I could sit back and mope about being in DC where it is cold, and want to be somewhere else. If you live a life like that, you are going to make yourself crazy and depressed. Take it one day at a time, do what you can on that one day. The future has not come yet. Control the present and it will lead to the future.
So, are you happy, what things in your life can you do, RIGHT NOW, to change your attitude and make you happy? Find them, they are the key to a happy and healthy life! Aloha to everyone and make it a great day.
